'Boardwalk Empire' To Return For Fourth Season
HBO has announced it's renewing its popular Prohibition drama "Boardwalk Empire" for a fourth season. The third season of the critically acclaimed show premiered on Sept. 16 with 7.2 million viewers tuning in.
The series is set in the 1920s and chronicles the life and times of Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi), the undisputed leader of Atlantic City.
Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming, commented, "Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their outstanding team continue to produce a stunning show that never fails to surprise and entertain."
"Boadwalk Empire" received four 2012 Emmy Awards: Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Tim Van Patten), Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series (tie with "Game of Thrones"), Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series, and Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role.
