Universal Classic Monsters the Essential Collection

From the studio that pioneered the horror genre, the "Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection" is a must-have Blu-ray set for the thriller afficionado.

The collection contains eight films on Blu-ray, a collectible 48-page photograph book, posters, and more. Included in the package are the classic movies "Dracula" (1931), "Frankenstein" (1931), "The Mummy" (1932), "The Invisible Man" (1933), "Bride of Frankenstein" (1935), "The Wolf Man" (1941), "Phantom of the Opera" (1943), and  "Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954).

Each film is accompanied by bonus features about the movie's creation and history, including behind-the-scenes documentaries, filmmaker commentary, interviews, trailers and more.

Of particular interest is a never-before-seen restoration of "Dracula." "Dracula" is a classic among horror films, with Bela Lugosi giving the performance of a lifetime as the erudite Count. "Frankenstein" made unknown character actor Boris Karloff a star and created a new icon of terror. Along with the highly successful "Dracula," released earlier in the same year, it launched Universal Studio's golden age of 1930s horror movies.

Just in time for Halloween - own the "Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection" on October 2, 2012!
