ABC has announced that Sean Lowe, who was rejected by Emily Maynard on the eighth season of "The Bachelorette," is the new "Bachelor."
The 28-year-old Dallas businessman is the man tasked with picking his perfect mate on the 17th season of "The Bachelor." Lowe is a tall man - 6 foot 3 inches - and was a linebacker for Kansas State University. He worked in finance and insurance before building a custom furniture business.
Lowe confessed he loved Maynard on last season's "Bachelorette," but she eliminated him just before the finale. Maynard wound up choosing Jef Holm, and the couple is still together.
During the "Men Tell All" special, the ladies in the audience loved Sean and screamed every time host Chris Harrison mentioned his name. So it appears that he was a popular choice to fill the slot.
The new season of "The Bachelor" premieres in January.
