Kenny Chesney added another trophy to his collection on Monday when he was feted at the Sixth Annual Academy of Country Music Honors gala.

The country singer beamed with pride as he picked up the Crystal Milestone Award for his touring success during the ceremony held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Thanking his loyal fan base as he accepted the prize, he said, "I remember our first night ever doing a headlining show, I made (my team) walk out to the front and take a picture to prove there were going to be people there."

He added, "The longer I do this the more I realize how fortunate we are... To be able to do what I do the way we do it is one of the biggest blessings in the world. All the numbers are great and this is great, but it's the people that you get to do it with that's the best, and I can say I think I got to do it with the best."

Also toasted at the event were Vince Gill, who was presented with the Career Achievement Award, Alan Jackson, who accepted the Jim Reeves International Award, and musicians Emmylou Harris and Ricky Skaggs, who were both recognized with Cliffie Stone Pioneer Awards.
