A pudgy and awkward seven year old, Olive (Abigail Breslin) is invited to take place in the coveted Little Miss Sunshine Beauty Pageant. In order to make the long distance and last minute trip, her entire dysfunctional family needs to go via their vintage VW Microbus. Greg Kinnear plays Olive's messed up father who is trying to build his career as a life coach. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and won two: Best Original Screenplay for Michael Arndt and Best Supporting Actor for Alan Arkin.
