Kelly Rutherford's onscreen husband Matthew Settle has voiced his support for the actress as she fights to regain custody of her two children.
The Gossip Girl star was left devastated last week when she lost her bid to have her two kids return to the U.S. from France, where they spent the summer with her ex-husband, German businessman, Daniel Giersch.
Rutherford shares custody of five-year-old son Hermes and daughter Helena Grace, three, but she will now have to fly to France every time she wants to see them.
The actress has vowed to keep fighting in a bid to have the children returned to their native U.S., and Settle, who plays her onscreen husband in Gossip Girl, has now thrown his support behind her case.
Settle also voices his outrage at the court decision to keep in the kids in Europe in a series of posts on Twitter.com.
He writes, "Love you, with you Kelly Rutherford. Support Kelly... American kids sent to foreign country with dad that's banned from U.S... What???... How can judge order American children of Kelly Rutherford to live in France w (with) ex who's banned from US?"
Rutherford adds to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, "I am so grateful for the support of my fellow cast members and the legal community for wanting children who've been growing up in New York to live in New York."
