Reality TV Mogul Nigel Lythgoe To Revamp 'Fame'
Reality TV mogul Nigel Lythgoe has signed a new deal to revamp hit 1980s TV series Fame.
The executive producer of hit talent shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance has partnered with MGM Television to develop a series based on the 1980 film and spin-off TV show.
And he has the backing of original Fame star Debbie Allen, who tells TV Guide magazine, "It's a great idea. Nigel talked to me about it about six months ago, maybe longer. He's been trying to get these rights for a while... He's great, such an incredible advocate for the dance world. He cut his teeth on Fame back in the day, so I think it's terrific."
Allen is unsure if she'll be a part of the new show but she admits she'll always hold a soft spot in her heart for the drama: "It's always going to be a part of me and belong to me."
