After just a few months of dating, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and actress Kristin Davis have called it quits.

The couple got together around May and went public with their relationship in June on the red carpet for Sorkin's new HBO show "The Newsroom."

A source told In Touch magazine, "They're very different people. She's focused on raising her daughter, Gemma, and he's working on his show. They'll definitely remain friends."

Davis adopted Gemma as a single parent earlier this year. Sorkin's show has received mixed reviews from critics but received a season two pickup from HBO.
