Katie Holmes has reportedly enrolled her daughter in an exclusive new New York academy, which has links to schools in China, Africa and Europe.

Little Suri Cruise will begin her school life at Avenues in Chelsea, according to Life & Style magazine.

The news comes just weeks after Holmes filed for divorce from Suri's dad Tom Cruise, and amid reports the six year old would enter the first grade at snooty all-girls Catholic school Convent of the Sacred Heart.

Avenues, which is located close to the new home Holmes shares with her daughter, costs parents almost $40,000 and the private school reportedly specialises in teaching students Spanish and Mandarin.

The school also has links to Chelsea Piers athletic facilities, where Suri has taken gymnastics classes for years.
