Doctors Remove 80 Percent Of Lisa Lampanelli's Stomach For Weight Loss
After undergoing extreme weight-loss surgery, comedienne Lisa Lampanelli has dropped three dress sizes. Over the years the star has struggled with her weight and finally decided to have a gastric sleeve procedure.
Lampanelli, 51, now says she is focused on making healthy lifestyle choices.
On Tuesday she appeared on "Good Morning America" and explained, "It's called the gastric sleeve, which means they (doctors) remove about about 80 percent of your stomach, which means you can eat about four ounces three times a day, which is about a cup-and-a-half of food.
"You really have to be conscious about everything you put in your mouth. You have to exercise every day to keep your energy up. You have to eat tons of protein - so basically it changes everything."
Lampanelli's husband had the same procedure a few weeks after she did. "Combined we lost a total of 105 pounds so far," she noted.
