The Young & The Restless star Jeanne Cooper has confessed to a real-life affair with her on-screen son, Beau Kazer.

The actress, who played Katherine Chancellor on the hit soap opera for nearly four decades, has revealed she sought comfort from Kazer, who is 21 years her junior, after her television producer husband Harry Bernsen, Jr. unexpectedly filed for divorce several years ago.

She tells the New York Post, "He (Kazer) brought one of the kindest, most grounded, kinds of simplicity to life. He was a great conversationalist, a poetic kind of person. And you know what?"

"He delivers lines better than anyone I've ever known! We had dinner one night and then it went further. He made the first move."

Cooper admits the pair split because she could not handle the age difference between them: "He kept saying he had no problem with it and that age meant nothing to him. So, he married someone else. His new wife? She was 30 years older than he was!"
