Christian Bale Had Trouble Breathing In His Batman Costume
Christian Bale won't miss wearing his Batman getup because he had a difficult time breathing when he wore it. The actor has revealed he nearly fainted while filming "The Dark Knight" trilogy because of the restrictiveness of the suit.
He told Empire magazine, "When it gets cold the cowl is extremely tight, and it gets better the warmer I get it; it becomes more flexible. But, after a couple of takes, I was trying to breathe properly in my nose. I was starting to see stars and I said, 'I have to take this off.'"
He added, "And thank God, on this one (film) I can - on (first movie) Batman Begins I couldn't - so I had to get inside because I couldn't let anybody see me without the cowl."
"The Dark Knight Rises" centers on the events following "The Dark Knight," with the Caped Crusader pitted against the deadly Bane (Tom Hardy) and Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). The film hits theaters July 20.
