Chad Kroeger

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger is convinced the band is so despised by critics they'll be dead before they receive official recognition.

The Canadian rockers have previously been subjected to barbed comments from fellow musicians including The Black Keys star Patrick Carney, who blamed fans' acceptance of Nickelback as "the biggest band in the world" for killing off rock 'n' roll.

Kroeger is adamant they are so disliked it will be years before they are handed any kind of prestigious award.

He tells Canada's Edmonton Journal, "We may be dead by then but I think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will probably show up the same time as our first Grammy."
