'Entertainer Of The Year' Justin Timberlake Takes Marine To Guys Choice Awards
Nearly seven months after he escorted her to a Marine Corps ball, Justin Timberlake took Corporal Kelsey De Santis to the Guys Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The singer/actor was honored as Entertainer of the Year and presented with the Troops' Choice prize.
Accepting the award, Timberlake said, "It's amazing actually to be standing on stage with these American heroes. As some of you know I'm usually a wisea**, but in all seriousness, I can tell you receiving this award from our troops is seriously one of the greatest honors that I or any American could receive."
Last July, De Santis invited Timberlake to be her date for the Instructor Battalion party in Virginia via a video post on YouTube. He accepted and joined her at the bash in November, later admitting that the event was "one of the most moving evenings" he had ever experienced. Timberlake returned the favor by asking De Santis to accompany him to the Spike TV ceremony.
Timberlake, who is engaged to wed actress Jessica Biel, definitely had De Santis' vote. She told Eonline.com, "He's a genuine person. There's no doubt in my mind (he deserves this award)."
Emma Stone won the Hot & Funny Award, while basketball star Kobe Bryant was named Best Baller.
Will Ferrell reunited with Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson to see their classic comedy "Old School" inducted into the Guy Movie Hall of Fame.
The Guys Choice Awards will be broadcast next Saturday.
