Lady Gaga's manager has threatened to axe her upcoming concert in Indonesia if she is forced to tone down her stage act.

The Poker Face star's planned show in Jakarta on June 3rd currently hangs in the balance as local official decide whether to grant her a performance permit in the face of strong protests from religious groups opposed to her racy costumes and saucy songs.

Gaga has previously insisted she will ditch her backing dancers and perform a toned down solo act if that will secure permission to play in Jakarta, but her manager, Troy Carter, has now insisted he would rather skip the gig than change the show.

He was a keynote speaker at the Music Matters 2012 conference at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia in Singapore, and he told a press conference, "We'll skip them (the concerts). We play the show as it is, it's a very specific show to a very specific audience. Truth be told, she's not up there nude, she's not doing anything provocative for the sake of being provocative...

"I don't think this has anything to do with Gaga as much as it has to do with - you know, it's just a big cultural and generational gap that is happening over there. You are dealing with a few different things, you are dealing with politics... you are dealing with religion. It's a little bit more complicated than her changing her outfits."

Minola Sebayang, a lawyer for the promoters behind the Jakarta gig, Big Daddy Entertainment, tells the Jakarta Post, "We were not forcing her to do things that she will not do (otherwise), but merely asking her to consider harmonizing her performance with Indonesian culture... The show is still on."
