Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has given birth to a baby boy.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star and her businessman husband Raj Kundra welcomed the newborn to their family at a hospital in Mumbai, India.

In a series of messages on his Twitter.com page on Monday, Kundra writes: "God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits!!!!!!... A big thank you to my wife TheShilpaShetty for the bestest (sic) gift ever, DR Kiran Cohelo and all the staff at Hinduja Hospital!..."

"Thank you all for your love and wishes for our new born. Both mum and Baby K are resting. Our Parents now turn grand parents."

The couple has been married for three years and Shetty announced her pregnancy last year.
