Aretha Franklin Lands Gospel Hall Of Fame Honor
Music icon Aretha Franklin is to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
The Queen of Soul will receive the honor at a ceremony on August 14th in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and will be joined by her fellow inductees including bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, The Hoppers, singer Dallas Holm and Christian rock band Love Song. Late TV evangelist Rex Humbard will also be honored.
Franklin's Grammy-winning 1972 album Amazing Grace sold two million copies in the U.S. and remains one of the best-selling gospel albums of all time.
The Gospel Music Hall of Fame began in 1971 and previous inductees include Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley.
