Beastie Boys rapper Mike D has been in a "blur of deep emotions" after losing his friend and bandmate Adam Yauch to cancer.
Yauch, known as MCA, died on Friday at the age of 47 following a three-year battle with the disease.
Bandmate Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz broke his silence about Yauch's passing on Sunday night, thanking friends and family for their outpouring of "love and support", and now fellow Beastie Boy Mike D has opened up about the loss and paid tribute to his late pal.
In a post on the band's Facebook.com page, the star, real name Michael Diamond, admits he's struggling to come to terms with Yauch's death.
He writes: "I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed (blogged) every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much.
"He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humor can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam."
Madonna, Jay-Z, Eminem, and Justin Timberlake were among the big names who remembered Yauch over the weekend following the tragic news.
