Chris Harrison, host of ABC's popular reality show "The Bachelor," and his wife Gwen have announced they are separating after 18 years of marriage.

The couple told People, "Though we have made this incredibly difficult decision to separate, our love and mutual respect remain, and we look forward to sharing in the lives of our wonderful children."

The couple's children are Joshua, 9, and Taylor, 7.

Harrison also hosts "The Bachelorette," which kicks off its new season on May 14 on ABC. Emily Maynard, who appeared on the 15th season of "The Bachelor," will have her pick of many fine young men.

Emily got engaged to Brad Womack but broke up just six months after filming ended.

People are already speculating whether Harrison would be a good candidate to star on an upcoming season of "The Bachelor." But then who would host?
