Stars Pay Tribute To Beastie Boys' Legend Adam Yauch
will.i.am, Q-Tip, Travis Barker, and Fred Durst are leading the tributes to tragic Beastie Boys star Adam Yauch following his death on Friday.
Rapper Yauch, also known as MCA, was diagnosed with a tumor in his salivary gland in 2009, and he lost his battle with cancer on Friday at the age of 47.
The hip-hop pioneer's passing has sent shockwaves through the music community and now dozens of celebrities are speaking out to share their grief on Twitter.com.
Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am writes, "restinpeaceMCA 1 of my favorite hiphop groups...hiphop raised a lot of us & now we have to wake up because are hero's are dying too younge (sic)".
A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip tweets, "RIP yauch and thank u mike and adam n adam 4 all of your help, the tours, the bball (basketball) games, n great times. a humanitarian a tru friend (sic)".
Meanwhile, Blink-182 rocker Barker posts, "Rest In Peace Adam Yauch /MCA. 4ever somebody i looked up to & had the pleasure of meeting. Damn this bums me out, we lost one of the best," and Limp Bizkit's Durst adds, "A very sad day indeed. Adam Yauch RIP."
Good Charlotte star Benji Madden writes, "This news hits hard. The Beastie Boys are 1of the reasons I do music&MCA was the captain. Thanx (sic) for everythin (sic) MCA... Thoughts and prayers out to the Beastie Boys and their friends and families RIPMCA".
Also among the first to pay their respects were singers Josh Groban, Boy George, Tom Fletcher and Paramore's Hayley Williams.
