Robert De Niro is hoping to star in a sequel to 1988 comedy thriller Midnight Run after revealing a script is in the works.
The Meet The Parents star is eager to shoot a follow up to the cult classic, in which he played a bounty hunter attempting to capture a mob accountant, and now he's just waiting for the finished screenplay.
Speaking at the Tribeca Film Festival, he says, "Somebody approached me, a young writer and he said, 'I'm writing a sequel if you want to (read it)'. And I said, 'Sure! Fine.' So it's been going through these kind of changes... And so that's where we are and the script is being re-worked again. But I hope to do it. It was a lot of fun to do."
It's not the only sequel De Niro would consider - he admits he's open to making a second Raging Bull movie, adding, "If somebody comes up with a great, great script, I'd read it and say, 'Yeah, it's great, I'll think about it'."
