Teen star Selena Gomez is taking a step back from music to focus on her acting career after lining up her first action movie alongside Ethan Hawke.
The singer/actress wrapped filming on upcoming comedy "Spring Breakers" last month and she recently replaced her pal Miley Cyrus in Adam Sandler's animated movie "Hotel Transylvania."
Now Gomez has signed on to star in "The Getaway" - and she admits the call of Hollywood has temporarily placed her music aspirations on hold.
She tells MTV News, "I'm just kind of halting music for a bit. (I've) been really focused on more acting. For me it's been fun to take risks and do things that are completely different."
Discussing her new movie with Hawke, she says, "It's really, really exciting. I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming. It's more of an action movie, which is also different."
