John Fogerty's appearance at an Australian music festival on Saturday had to be delayed after a woman in the audience died just minutes before the veteran star was due on stage.
The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman's set at the Byron Bay Bluesfest was pushed back by 20 minutes after a 49-year-old woman suffered a cardiac arrest in the Mojo Stage tent, where the rocker was due to play.
Paramedics rushed to help the female fan, but they were unable to resuscitate her and she passed away.
Bluesfest venue manager Brendan Meek said of the tragedy, "It has really hit everybody hard... but she was at a place she loved. She came to Bluesfest every year."
Fogerty took to the stage late, but still completed his two-hour set.
