Ruben Studdard Gets Lucky In Divorce Settlement
Former "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard has lost nothing in his bitter divorce battle with ex-wife Surata thanks to an iron-clad prenuptial agreement.
The singer filed for divorce in November, ending his three-year marriage, and he became officially single again in January.
And now the financial and property aspects relating to the split have been decided - and Studdard gets to keep the couple's home, his cash, jewelry and property, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.com.
His ex-wife drives off in a BMW gift from her husband, the wedding dress she wore when they exchanged vows in 2008 and a $10,000 property settlement. Studdard has also agreed to pay her attorney's fees.
