Rocker Richie Sambora is to be honored for his philanthropy at an upcoming charity gala.

The Bon Jovi guitarist has long supported The Midnight Mission, a Los Angeles organization which offers help to the homeless, and he will be celebrated for his dedication at the 12th Annual Golden Heart Awards next month.

He says, "I have a profound respect for the Midnight Mission. I'm inspired by the work they do day in and day out. I'm proud to be affiliated with such a solution-minded outreach program."

"For the betterment of our community, I gladly contribute whenever I'm able to lend my support to the cause in any way I can. To have the Midnight Mission recognize me with this award is humbling and an incredible honor."

The ceremony will take place at L.A.'s Beverly Wilshire Hotel on May 7th.
