Ke$ha Animal-loving singer Ke$ha is throwing her support behind a bill to prevent the possession and sale of shark fins.

The TiK ToK hit-maker, who is an outspoken campaigner for animal rights, was thrilled to learn senators in Maryland recently approved landmark legislation aiming to protect sharks by banning the sale of their fins.

Now, she's urging her fans to continue campaigning so the proposal will be passed in Maryland's House of Delegates.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, the pop star writes, "Maryland Senate votes to ban the sale of shark fins! ANIMALS - Keep up the pressure to stop this cruel practice!!!"

Ke$ha isn't the only star who is passionate about saving the shark population - Bo Derek, Leonardo DiCaprio and Edward Norton have also spoken out against the practice of slicing off shark fins.
