Maggie Gyllenhaal struggled to hide her pregnancy during her first two trimesters as she found herself throwing up backstage at glitzy red carpet events.
The Hollywood actress is expecting her second daughter with her husband Peter Sarsgaard this year, but she decided not to reveal her big news until she was nearly four months pregnant.
Gyllenhaal continued to work, but she hated hiding her morning sickness and bulging belly.
She tells USA Today, "I find it difficult to pretend you're not pregnant, which I had to do. I didn't let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I'm throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses."
The baby girl, due in late spring, will join the couple's five-year-old daughter, Ramona.
