Justin Bieber was among the stars who won big at the Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night (31Mar12) and went home covered in the show's trademark green slime.
The event's host, Will Smith, started by warning celebrity attendees, "No one is safe from the slime! You have to earn the slime! It's an honor," and Hollywood actress Halle Berry was the first to be covered in gloop.
She was swiftly followed by Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, who was gunged as he picked up the prize for favorite Butt Kicker, and award presenter Chris Colfer.
Lautner's Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart escaped the deluge as she was handed the award for favorite Movie Actress, as did country singer Taylor Swift, who received the Big Help prize from First Lady Michelle Obama.
Obama paid tribute to the singer for her charity work and philanthropy, telling the audience, "Every step of the way (Swift) has always made it a point to give back. She's supported children's charities, she's worked to combat bullying and given away books to schools and libraries all around the country. She's given so much of her own money to victims of natural disasters here and around the world."
Katy Perry was another winner at the show, picking up an honor for her voice role in animated movie The Smurfs shortly after performing, telling the audience, "The only reason why I'm still here today - and remember this - is because I've never grown up!"
Other awards went to Big Time Rush (favorite Music Group), Adam Sandler (favorite Movie Actor) and Selena Gomez, who won awards in both the acting and music categories (favorite TV Actress and favorite Female Singer).
Gomez's boyfriend Justin Bieber stepped on stage for the big finale as he was handed his prize for favorite Male Artist and he was given the full green gunge treatment along with host Smith as the show came to a close.
Bieber subsequently wrote in a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, "I didn't get slimed. I got destroyed Big Willy Style! Haha. Slime is cold..."
