Broadway star Megan Hilty's new TV hit "Smash" has helped land the actress/singer a recording deal.
 
The star has been snapped up by Sony bosses after wowing TV critics as needy diva Ivy Lynn, opposite Katharine McPhee, in the drama.
 
Hilty tells Life & Style magazine, "I just got my first record contract with Sony, so we just started doing demo music this week. I'm totally stoked. It's been so many dreams coming true for me!"
