Singer El DeBarge has escaped drug charges due to insufficient evidence.
The Rhythm of the Night hit-maker was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday after he and a pal were frisked by cops, who found cocaine hidden under a nearby car.
The unidentified friend claimed he was there to purchase the drugs from DeBarge and the star was subsequently charged with felony possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
However, DeBarge - who has denied the allegations - can now breathe a sigh of relief after the Los Angeles County District Attorney decided to drop the case due to a lack of evidence, according to TMZ.com.
This isn't the singer's first brush with the law - he has been arrested three times for drug possession since 2001. His music star's brother James is currently behind bars over assault and drug charges.
