Actor Ted Danson has reached out to the makers of Downton Abbey in the hope of landing a cameo role after becoming "completely hooked" on the TV show.
The former Cheers star reveals he and his wife Mary Steenburgen love the British period drama and dream of appearing in the series.
He tells Britain's Radio Times, "We're watching the second year and my wife and I are completely hooked. It's so sad that you guys only make six or seven episodes a year...
"If we could go to England, the two of us, and be in Downton Abbey, we'd be the happiest people on the planet."
However, Danson could be facing tough competition for a role - actor David Boreanaz is also eyeing a part and took to his Twitter.com page last month to urge creator Julian Fellowes to cast him in an upcoming episode.
