Lady Gaga has smashed a new world record after becoming the first person to land 20 million followers on Twitter.com.

The Poker Face star has been the queen of the site since August 2010, when she overtook Britney Spears, and her reign hit a new high on Monday.

Justin Bieber is now Gaga's nearest rival with 18.1 million online fans, while Katy Perry has 15.7 million followers and Shakira boasts 14.5 million. Spears currently has 13.6 million followers.
