Peter TorkDavy Jones was putting together plans for The Monkees to head out on another tour just days before his death, according to bandmate Peter Tork.

The group's British-born frontman died on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack at the age of 66.

Guitarist Tork has now revealed his late pal was looking to the future and was eager to get out on the road with the legendary band once again.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "We were looking forward to more tours. But those won't happen - at least not with Davy. Before this terrible news, Davy and I were emailing each other so we could make the new tour happen."

The band's reunion tour last year to celebrate their 45th anniversary fell flat when it came to a halt after 40 shows.

Tork admits the trek ended "because of a glitch in our business department."
