Michael Douglas Teams Up With FBI To Fight Fraud (Watch The Ad!)
Michael Douglas has reprised his Oscar-winning Wall Street character Gordon Gekko in a bid to help FBI agents win their fraud war.
The 'greed is good' anti-villain appears in a new public service announcement Douglas has shot for bureau officials, in which he asks Americans to report information about securities and commodities fraud.
In the ad, Douglas says, "I played a greedy corporate executive who cheated to profit while innocent investors lost their savings... The movie was fiction, but the problem is real."
The FBI has launched a new campaign to clamp down on insider trading and embezzling - and the Douglas ad is part of the project.
FBI spokesman Bill Carter insists Douglas jumped at the chance to help put scheming traders and businessmen behind bars.
He says, "With a high-profile person like this, we hope this will be an effective way to get the word out."
