Katy Bates Considers Retiring To Write, Paint & Travel
Kathy Bates is eyeing retirement once her TV drama "Harry's Law" ends.
The Oscar winner has enjoyed a long film career with roles in "Misery," "Titanic" and "About Schmidt," and she has also scooped up nine Emmy Award nominations.
And the 68 year old confesses it's time to think about calling it quits.
She tells Star magazine, "I'm thinking about stopping when Harry's Law finishes. I would like to move on to other things in the time I have left. Writing, painting, maybe travelling and finally learning how to speak French while I've still got my wits about me. I've had some wonderful opportunities. I'm really proud of what I've done."
