Actor Peter Dinklage has spoken of his joy after becoming a first-time father.

The Elf star and his wife Erica Schmidt welcomed a baby girl last month.

Dinklage kept the happy news quiet until the Golden Globe Awards last Sunday, when he thanked his wife and six-week-old daughter as he accepted a prize for his work on hit TV show Game of Thrones.

And the proud father can't stop gushing about the tot, telling Access Hollywood, "(It's) incredible. Life changing."
