LL Cool J Named Grammy Host, First In Seven Years
Rap veteran LL Cool J has been named the official host of the 2012 Grammy Awards - the first man to preside over the show in seven years.
The hip-hop star has hosted the live Grammy nominations concert every year since 2008, and now he is taking charge of the awards ceremony.
In a statement, he says, "I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night. I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true."
Queen Latifah was the last star to host the event in 2005, while previous presenters include Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell. Since 2005, various star guests have presented the awards without an anchor for the show.
The 54th Grammy Awards will air in on February 12.
