Pop star Avril Lavigne's boyfriend Brody Jenner has slammed reports the pair has split up.

The Sk8er Boi hitmaker and Kim Kardashian's step-brother have been dating since shortly after Lavigne split from her husband, Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, at the end of 2009.
 
Earlier this week editors at Life & Style magazine reported the stars have now gone their separate ways, but Jenner has spoken out to quash the rumor.
 
In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her."
 
And Lavigne has backed up his comments, re-tweeting his message on her own Twitter page, before adding, "Luv u 2!!! BrodyJenner."
