Taye Diggs underwent surgery as a youngster after he was born with 12 fingers.
 
The "Private Practice" star, who is married to "Glee" star Idina Menzel, came out of the womb with an extra digit on each hand.
 
Doctors removed the extra fingers, and Diggs reveals his parents requested the procedure so he wouldn't face ridicule as he grew up.
 
He says, "I know you guys are thinking that I'm kidding. As a child I had an extra digit on each hand, and I remember my mom told me, they (the doctors) asked her if she wanted to let the digit grow or to remove it, and they removed it - but I could have been really handy."
