Sam Worthington loves his nomadic lifestyle so much; he's vowed to remain homeless for as long as possible.

The Australian actor sold all his possessions to pursue his career in Hollywood, and he's been living in hotels and sleeping on a pal's couch ever since.

And despite his hefty pay check from movie parts including a leading role in Avatar, Worthington intends to stay homeless for as long as possible - because he loves living like a "gypsy".

He tells Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, "The white picket fence in Australia has never really appealed to me. I'm not very responsible when it comes to mortgage, bills, paperwork...

"I could have had that years ago and I chose not to. Maybe when I'm 60 I'll settle down. At the moment I like my lifestyle. I've got a bag of clothes and a bag of books. I don't own a phone and I don't want to own one. Sydney's home but I am never normally there."

"I'm a gypsy. I go where the work is."
