Sinead O'Connor has jetted to Las Vegas to marry her fiancé in a "proper rock 'n' roll wedding" on her 45th birthday on Thursday.
The Irish star and her therapist beau Barry Herridge left Dublin on Wednesday for Sin City, where they plan to exchange vows in a "drive-thru" ceremony. O'Connor reveals she and her groom will be the only people present at the nuptials, aside from the witnesses provided.
She says, "Myself and Barry decided to get married in Las Vegas because we wanted a proper rock 'n' roll wedding. I've been married before, but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it's casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic."
The Nothing Compares 2 U hit-maker met Herridge when he sent her a letter in response to a desperate newspaper column she wrote earlier this year appealing for a boyfriend.
She explains, "Barry sent me this wonderful email, which just took my heart away. It had to be him."
O'Connor, who has been married three times before, will delay her honeymoon to attend an Amnesty International party in Dublin on Saturda.
