Country star Keith Urban is recovering after undergoing a successful operation on his vocal cords.
 
The Aussie singer, who is married to Nicole Kidman, had the surgery to remove a polyp on Tuesday and his spokesman Paul Freundlich tells Reuters he is doing fine.
 
Urban has been ordered not to speak for three weeks to allow his throat time to heal.
 
The star, who had to cancel end-of-year shows due to his health issues, released a special Thanksgiving video message for fans before going under the knife earlier this week to thank them for their support.
 
Urban has become the latest celebrity to undergo throat surgery - Adele and KISS singer Paul Stanley both recently received treatment for similar problems.
