Cyndi Lauper Honored For Her Homeless Charity Work
Singer Cyndi Lauper has been honored for her work helping the homeless - she was presented with a Spirit of Youth trophy at a ceremony last week.
The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hit-maker follows in the footsteps of Ludacris and actor Tim Matheson, who have previously picked up the prize.
Lauper was applauded by officials at the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) at their annual benefit at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago on Friday night for supporting their cause through her True Colors Fund.
Last year the singer flipped the switch to turn the Empire State Building green for National Runaway Prevention Month, while she's also recorded a public service announcement to promote the NRS' services helping runaway youths and those living on the streets in America.
