Adopted country star Faith Hill has reconnected with her long-lost brother after embarking on a search for her birth mother.
The hitmaker, who was adopted as an infant, tracked down her birth family in 1993 in an effort to make peace with her past and, although the journey was emotional, Hill is glad she made the effort because she gained a family member she never knew she had.
During TV special "In the Spotlight" with Robin Roberts on Tuesday, she explained, "There was a period of time when I first moved to Nashville (Tennessee), like the first couple of years, that I was just simply lost. That's when I went on a search for my birth family. And it was all by divine intervention that it happened...
"It was meant for me to find her. One day, if I ever feel comfortable talking about the whole story, I will. But, in the process I found a full brother... So we needed one another."
