The Help star Jessica Chastain is set to play the late Princess Diana in an upcoming movie about the British royal's life, according to a new report.

The redhead will lead the cast of Caught in Flight after beating out Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley for the role, reports industry website IndieWire.com.

The controversial project is set to focus on the late royal's rumored two-year love affair with a heart surgeon in the mid-1990s.

The script was penned by British playwright Stephen Jeffreys and the movie is due to begin shooting in March, 2012.
