Keith Urban has joined the celebrity throat surgery club after announcing he has to have a polyp removed from his vocal chords.
 
The Aussie singer, who is married to Nicole Kidman, has cleared his calendar for the rest of the year so he can rest up after the procedure. He has also cancelled a hosting appearance at the All for the Hall benefit concert in Nashville, Tennessee in January.
 
Rescheduled performances may include two upcoming shows at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
 
He's not the only star currently undergoing throat surgery - Adele and KISS frontman Paul Stanley have also announced plans to go under the knife to battle ongoing vocal chord issues.
