Eddie Murphy is refuting rumors he has bought an island in the Bahamas, insisting the story has been embellished by local tour guides.
 
The star claims enterprising tour officials have been lying about his make-believe property for years.
 
He says, "If you do (take) one of those boat tours... they always tell people, 'And that island is Eddie Murphy's right there'. And people always go, 'I saw your island!' I don't have no island."
