Paul Rodgers Open To Reunion With Queen For London Olympics
Rocker Paul Rodgers has given Queen fans hope he'll reteam with Brian May and Roger Taylor for a spectacular to open the Summer Olympics in London next year by revealing he's open to the idea.
The former Free and Bad Company singer, who fronted the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour from 2005 to 2009, insists he hasn't heard from May and Taylor about a much-publicized and hoped for reunion - but he wouldn't say no.
He tells Billboard.com, "No one's actually approached me yet, but I would be open to something like that, I must say.
"I think we did fantastically well. We were up against potential disaster, really, and I think we really pulled it off. Toured the world a couple of times. Made a brand new studio album. I just didn't want to do it forever... but, for something like this (the Olympics), that would be ideal."
Rodgers has been the only singer to tour with Queen since the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991.
