The Cranberries To Return With New Album

October 8th, 2011 8:30am EDT

CranberriesThe Cranberries are set to return to the charts with their first new album in 10 years.

The Irish rockers, who shot to fame in the 1990s, have not released a record since 2001's Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, but frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan has confirmed they have been back in the studio working on new songs.

She tells Billboard, "It's kind of picking up where we left off... The whole thing was very lovely. It really came together really nicely. A lot of the tracks were written without really thinking about it. They just came."

"I suppose we had more respect for each other and what we were doing. In the latter days, towards 2003, we were just kind of going through the motions a bit. Now we're really happy and really appreciate what we have together."

The new album, titled Roses, will be released on Valentine's Day, 2012
