Acting came naturally to sexy new Charlie's Angels Minka Kelly because she grew up manipulating her stripper mom's "bad guy" boyfriend.

Kelly recently revealed she had a "complicated" relationship with her late mom Maureen Kelly, insisting she acted more like a friend than a parent - and the mother-daughter relationship was really tested when they relocated to New Mexico and moved in with a man who sold tamales out of a truck.

The actress admits her mom's boyfriend was sometimes rough with her.

She tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "You learn how to manipulate people into taking care of you, so that they don't hit you... You speak with a little baby voice... I called him Dad for a long time. He had, like, five kids with five different women. He was a bad guy."
